Take
challenging odds
tests to improve your understanding of Texas Hold'em odds!
Post your scores on worldwide
leaderboards and compare your skills with other players,
and compete for the overall
odds knowledge champ title.
First
take our quick 10-question general
assessment quiz. Then go deeper and take our pre-flop, post-flop, basic, and
advanced quizzes.
The quizzes cover common pre-flop and post-flop situations involving
made hands and draws and random hands that you'll encounter frequently
in actual play.
Hand Ranges And Multi-Player Quizzes
Then for even more of a challenge, take our hand ranges and multi-player quizzes
(pre-flop
and post-flop). Poker
is
a game of incomplete
information;
we can almost never put our opponents on specific cards. We have to put
them on ranges of hands (e.g. "I think he has Aces or Kings or maybe
AceKing") and make odds estimates based on incomplete information.
Outs, Counter-Outs, Runner-Runner Outs
Hold'em Odds Quizzer shows you the questions in random order, times
you, and shows you the correct
answer after you answer each question. For post-flop questions, Hold'em
Odds Quizzer explains the players' outs
and counter-outs
and runner-runner outs.
Many players don't consider counter/re-draw outs and runner-runner
outs; get an edge on them.
Grades And Scores
Hold'em Odds
Quizzer gives you an A+ ... F grade
(your accuracy) at the end of each quiz. In addition you get a score from 0..1000
based on your grade, quiz completion time, and number of answers
cancelled (to combat cheating).
Worldwide High-Score Leaderboards, Chat, Friends
Your grades and scores for each quiz are saved locally on
your device, and your scores are posted
on worldwide leaderboards, so you
can track your progress and compare your skills with players from
around the world.
We use OpenFeint
for the leaderboards support. OpenFeint is a leading social game
community that also features chat
and friends.
Outs Chart
We have included a built-in Outs
Chart
to help you better understand the situations in the questions and for
general reference. But don't get caught using it in the middle of a
live hand!
Pre-Flop Odds Chart
We have also included a built-in Pre-Flop
Odds Chart for common pre-flop matchups. This Odds Chart
is in the Odds Tutorial.
Odds Tutorial
We have also included an Odds
Tutorial that:
- Explains what "Equity"
means.
- Shows you how to use the Outs Chart.
- Gives a Pre-Flop
Odds Chart for common pre-flop matchups.
- Explains our method for estimating the odds for just
about any
Texas Hold'em scenario in your head in real time by counting outs and
counter-outs.
Our odds estimation
method is of course a much better and more general way to
learn poker
odds than by memorizing an outs chart or the odds for specific
scenarios.
Improve Your Odds Knowledge
See where your odds knowledge currently stands ... See if you can
improve and get all A's ... Compare your scores with friends and with
players from around the world ...
There's much more to poker than just the odds of
course, and you don't need to know the odds to 1% accuracy to be a good
player. But you could be off far enough on your odds estimates for some
situations to make a difference. We believe the odds are the foundation
and are worth mastering.
Good Coverage Of Important Texas Hold'em Situations
You may be thinking how can you
reduce a complicated game like Texas Hold'em to 7 quizzes with 10
questions each (most of the pre-flop and post-flop questions have two
variations so that's a total of 100+ situations)? The answer is,
well, you can't! But we picked these approximately 100
questions carefully to cover the most important pre-flop and post-flop
situations that you'll encounter frequently in actual play, for example:
Pre-Flop Basic Quiz:
- AA vs KK
(HighPair vs
LowerPair)
- AK vs AQ
(GoodAce vs
Worse(Dominated)Ace)
- KK vs AQ
(HighPair vs
Good(NonDominated)Ace)
- ...
Post-Flop Advanced
Quiz:
- TopPair vs MiddlePairTopKicker
- TopPair vs FlushDrawWithTwoOverCards
- BottomSet vs TopTwoPair
- ...
If you
understand the outs and odds in these situations then you'll be able to
apply your knowledge to many other situations that you'll encounter.
