Deal-To-Flop And Flop Texture Analysis,

Flop Hit Stats,

Odds For Flopping Draws And Combination Draws

Deal-To-Flop and flop texture analysis, combined with hand histograms, flop hit stats, and odds for flopping draws and combination draws, are important features that separate PokerCruncher from the many other ordinary odds calculators and turn PokerCruncher into a powerful odds analysis tool not just a basic odds calculator.

Most of the time you're interested in seeing how hands do against each other going all the way to the river, so PokerCruncher deals to the river by default. But the important decisions in a hand happen many times at the flop, so it's useful to see where hands stand at the flop, and to see what kinds of made hands and draws hands can flop and how often they flop them. And also, it's useful to see how a given flop might have hit a hand range.

You can do this in PokerCruncher by tapping the "Deal To" button, which lets you deal to the flop, turn, or even to just the hole cards, in addition to all the way to the river.

Screenshot Example

JT-suited doesn't do very well against many other hands going all the way to the river (after all it's just Jack-high). But with a suited/connected hand like JT-suited you're really interested in seeing what kinds of made hands and draws the hand can flop and how often it flops them.

In the screenshot you can see how often JT-suited flops made hands like OnePair, TwoPair, 3OfAKind, Straight, Flush, etc.

Flop Hit Stats

Flop hit stats measure a hand's direct/full hit on the flop, whereas the default make hand stats include cases where e.g. the board pairs to help make the hand.

Set DealTo=Flop and calculate. The "Stats" button toggles between "Hit" ("hit hand" stats) and "Make" (default "make hand" stats). In the Stats view, the hit stats which can be different than the default stats are shown in blue color (see screenshot).

Flop hit stats require the player's hole cards to be used to hit the hand. The default make hand stats don't require the hole cards to be used (can use only the board's cards, or can use the hole cards partially). For example AK's default make hand stat for OnePair on the flop is 40%, but AK's flop hit stat for OnePair is 29%. Similarly for TwoPair, 3OfAKind, FullHouse, and a few of the combination draws stats.

Odds For Flopping Draws And Combination Draws

In addition, by tapping the Stats view's "S" <- and -> buttons you can see how often JT-suited flops various draws or hits the board's top card:

We emphasize that the odds for the draws above are the odds for flopping the draws, not for completing the draws by the river (which PokerCruncher can also calculate by dealing to the river).

Tap the "S" -> button again and you can see the odds for flopping various combination draws (e.g. FourFlushDraw and OpenEndStraightDraw) and various Pair&Draws (e.g. Pair and FourFlushDraw):

We challenge you to find other odds calculators that can show you this wide and useful a range of stats.

Flop Texture Analysis

Suppose you put an opponent on a particular range of hands (maybe even the all hands range i.e. a random hand), and the flop is dealt. You can set DealTo=Flop to see how this flop has hit your opponent's hand range; this is flop texture analysis.  E.g. you can see what made hands and draws and combination draws your opponent might have flopped.

Deal-To-Hole-Cards Analysis

Deal-To-Flop turns the normal 7-card game into a 5-card game by ending the hand at the flop. You can go even further and use Deal-To-Hole-Cards to turn the game into a 2-card game. Why is this useful?; here's an example.

Example - Running Into KK vs. AA

Say you have KK. What are the chances that someone has AA, say at a full 10-handed table? This is easy to calculate in PokerCruncher:
  • Set the number of players to 10.
  • Give Player1 (you) KK.
  • Leave the other players' cards blank (random cards).
  • Set DealTo=HoleCards.
  • Calculate, and see how often your KK is in the lead.
What about at a short-handed table with 5 players? What if you have QQ and want to know how often you'll run into AA or KK? What if you have JJ? These are all easy questions to answer using PokerCruncher.

Other Odds Calculators

Deal-To Flop/Turn/HoleCards and flop texture analysis and PokerCruncher's advanced stats are powerful analysis features that you won't find in most other odds calculators and set PokerCruncher apart from other calculators.
